Goya-award-winning director Jaime Rosales (Solitary Fragments) returns with this affecting portrayal of two attractive twenty-somethings, in love and helplessly caught amidst Spain’s economic crises. Natalia (Ingrid García Johnson) and Carlos (Carlos Rodríguez) dream of wealth, cars and holidays, and desperately search for ways of attaining these ideals in Madrid – even if this involves sacrificing their self-respect. There is no work for them, no matter how many CVs they send out, and they are depressed and infuriated by low-paying casual work. When Natalia becomes pregnant, their problems escalate to a crisis level causing complications and arguments.
As their relationship navigates its way through the digital age via cleverly filmed text and photo messages, whatsapps and skype calls, the question constantly lingers of when Natalia and Carlos will be able to actually start to enjoying their young lives.
